Currently, he holds the prestigious position of Chancellor at Manipur and ICFAI University. He serves as a committee member of the Audit Advisory Board at the Office of the Director General of Audit (India). Professor Rao also acted as the Vice-Chancellor at Osmania University during his tenure of teaching and research.
